    Fine soap and an even finer company!
    I had minor issues initially with these shaving soaps, but I have to tell you that I have never seen such attentive customer service on any product on Amazon that compares at all to the care this company takes about its product. I have come around to respecting the product line for this as well as its shaving qualities. Four soaps came in the pack. I liked the scent of three and I am gifting the fourth one to someone who is just getting into wet shaving with a double edge safety razor. I use a Merkur R89 on most days, which has replaced my Edwin Jagger DE as go to razor and when I have the luxury of some extra time, I alternate between a Feather Artist Club and three straight edge razors, a Thiers Issard Spanish Point, a Dovo Bismark, and a Ralf Aust custom designed razor. I have been using fine shaving instruments for about 12 years now.On to the soap … they all foam up to a good consistency which in every case with the above hardware, provides good glide, cushion and protection. I have yet to nick myself using this soap. There are eight different flavors so you are bound to find something to your liking. The scents are nice and do not linger, so if you want something that will not conflict with colognes, aftershaves and even deodorants, these are a good choice. At first the pucks seemed to go quickly but I realized I was just applying too much soap. A little bit of these pucks goes a long way and I was throwing away a lot of good foam at the beginning, or rather I used the foam to exfoliate my entire face with the leftovers. Now, I just use less. The last item I’d like to comment on is the price. Shaving soaps run the gamut in pricing and you can burn funds quickly purchasing some of them. Viking, however, is priced very reasonably, so that there is little excuse for not having these as part of your regular shaving arsenal. If you like variety in a fine reasonable priced product, these are definitely a way to go.Ps. Thank you to Anne at Viking Customer Care for her impressive follow-up.

    The best shaving soap I’ve ever used!
    I almost never write glowing reviews like this, but I had to let you all know that this is the shave soap I’ve been looking for for many years. I’ve tried a variety of $25+ dollar shave soaps, I’ve tried the cheap ones from Walmart, and I was just starting to think that there wasn’t a really great one out there.But let me tell you, I ordered these and I’ve finally found what I was looking for. First of all, at the time of this writing, four pucks of this stuff was only $10? I have paid four times that amount for a lot of the others I’ve tried that weren’t nearly as good. There’s no wasted packaging, I’m not paying for yet another fancy plastic or metal container with these, and every single one of them smells AMAZING. I do a post shave lotion which I don’t always do now because I want to keep the smell of these soaps with me for a while, and also because since I’ve been using these, I get far less razor burn and bumps.But the absolute best part of these is that they lather like a dream. They lather like I didn’t even think was possible, a thick, velvety, smooth, fantastic smelling dream. I have actually started shaving more often because it’s so great, and also because I am able to with this stuff, due to the razor burn/bump issue not being a problem anymore. I wish I could shake the hand of whoever makes this stuff, great job!I just ordered another set of these because I’m afraid that I won’t be able to find these again when I run out.

    Built-in Conditioners Soothe the Skin!
    I have been using a popular shaving bar and I like the scent, but it does sort of burn my nose if it gets in my nose. I tried these out and so far I have only tried out the Bay Rum bar. I really didn’t notice any overpowering fragrance or anything that would make it stand out form other products I have use. However, I did get a very close shave and my skin feels terrific! My face is usually ruddy and bumpy after I shave with other bars, but this one soothed my skin! That’s an A+ in my book!

    Your Man Card begins here…
    This shaving soap is FANTASTIC, and you don’t need much to work up a good lather. Get a decent brush, a small bowl and some Viking razors. ABSOLUTELY WOW!! There’s a reason why Grandpa used to shave like this – because it’s simple, travels well, and it works. For what you spend on a tube of shaving paste, this soap gives you far more.- oh, and the wife loves the smell.

    These Shaving Soap pucks work into a good lather which leads to an excellent and smooth shave. Even when I let my beard grow a bit longer than I should, I can still get a comfortable shave while using this shaving soap.

    Good product
    I am really enjoying these.Smell is good but not overpowering. Holds well to my beaver hair brush. It makes a good lather that holds well on my face.Still on the first puck but I am looking forward to getting to the others.

    NO SCENT
    Lousy packaging, every other shave soap I’ve tried has been easy to open and most of them could be re-closed once open not this stuff when you take the puck out it’s wrapped in shrink wrap that has a sticker on it.Very weak sent, it doesn’t smell like what it claims to it just smells like ordinary soap.Weak lather, it doesn’t build lather nearly as well as many of the other shave soaps I’ve tried.Small pucks, I put the pucks on my kitchen scale they do not weigh what they claim to.Poor performance, the purpose of shave soap is to cushion and lubricate it doesn’t do either of these jobs as well as many of the others I’ve tried.(Edit)After seeing my negative review the company reached out to me and offered me a refund (I did not accept the refund). While I still do not like the quality of their soaps I definitely do like a company that’s willing to do the right thing, so I have improved my rating from 1 star to 3 stars.While I won’t be buying their soap again I would definitely be willing to do business with them and try their other products in the future.
