The brightness and build quality receive mixed reviews – while some say the lighting is great and the mirror feels rock-solid, others find the lighting disappointing and report the mirror being flimsy. The best customer support I have ever experienced! Great improved product.
Day 1: I received this item in the mail a few hours ago. Out of the box I noticed a scratch on the frame of the mirror but decided it will be forgotten in time. I followed the directions, cleaned the wall surface with soap and water, then with alcohol and waited for the surface to dry. When I tried to apply the silicon glue to the frame I realized the contents of the tube were dried up, nothing was coming out and it was completely useless. Fortunately I had some Gorilla glue and used that in combination with the sticky back tape that came in the box to attach the frame to the tiled wall. I immediately realized the plastic frame is not straight. Trying to push it down to the tile was a complete waste of time and eventually I had to settle for holding it down with some masking tape. I will remove the tape to see how well it is attached tomorrow and will share the rest of my findings then. So far, I will give it a generous 1 out of 5.Day 2: My substitute gorilla glue has dried and I attached the mirror. After an hour run on the treadmill it was time to take a shower and give the new mirror a try. I followed the instructions, removed the mirror and filled the reservoir in the back with warm water from the shower and true to their word the mirror did not fog up once during my long hot shower! I shaved with the LED lights on and it was nice to actually see me face clearly for a change 🙂 I had been using the same old Z’fogless mirror for a few years and it was pretty scratched up from falling and a bit tarnished from constant humidity. So, I upgrade my rating from 1 to 3 stars and will hold my final judgement until more use. I should also note that I received a very timely response to my initial post from the President of the company owning up to the problems and willing to do whatever is necessary to make things right with me. I have to admit that kind of customer service is very nice and representative of a caring company. I have a few thoughts/suggestions to make this a better product. Some of these may prove to be unnecessary after further use but here they are anyways:1. Better quality of glue or perhaps two tubes from different batches/suppliers in case one is dried up :)2. Better quality control to make sure there are no scratches on the mirror or its frame. This may be very difficult to do as I am sure they are manufactured in China and are handled by people during assembly and packing so it is impossible to avoid a few small scratches every once in a while. Having said that, for this amount of money at retail I think a perfect product is more fitting and expected. Those with tiny scratches and other small imperfections can be sold through liquidators and in other markets at lesser prices.3. I am a bit concerned about the wear and tear of the plastic tilting mechanism over time. Using metal parts would have been worse given rusting problems but perhaps making that portion removable and replaceable would be a good idea for the next generation. Also, it is hard to remove the mirror without causing some tilting as it is sort of flimsy. Perhaps this is an area where some improvement can be made in the next version.4. I realize filling the reservoir with hot water is the key to keeping the mirror from fogging up but perhaps there is a better way to empty and refill the reservoir without having to remove it and having to deal with all the tilting issues and any chances of dropping and scratching the mirror. A tube with a valve at the bottom of the mirror can be used to drain the reservoir and another with a large funnel like top can be used to refill it. I realize this is a rather rudimentary approach but I am sure the designers of the product can think of more innovative approaches to tackle this challenge.5. Having batteries in any device near the shower and water and keeping them from rusting is rather challenging. We will see how well these are sealed over time.In conclusion, after one use, the mirror works as advertised and the lighting is a nice useful feature. I will update my findings over time so stay tuned. Of course my wife still has to use it and she may have a thing or two to add :)Week 2: The Gorilla glue I used to attach the mirror base to the wall has held up fine and when filled with warm water the mirror does not fog but that is all the positives I can say about it while giving myself credit for using a better grade of glue since I had no choice. Unfortunately, already the mirror can not hold the weight of the water it needs in order of it to work as advertised. This is due to the cheap plastic mechanism used to set the angle of the mirror which I do not change but gets moved everyday when I have to remove the old water and add fresh warm water. Further, the adding and emptying of water has become a time consuming pain which requires one to also wipe the water drops from the surface of the mirror. The supplied blade is also not perfect in removing the water from the surface and leaves many trails on the mirror. A better design would have used batteries and an electrical filament to heat the back of the mirror quickly even if it would have required more or separate batteries. In all, I find this mirror to be of very poor quality and am going to send it back. I only hope to be able to remove the base from the wall without breaking it or leaving a mark on the tiles. Btw, it was nice to hear back from the President of the company after my first post but there was absolutely no follow up after that. I suppose it was all for show specially since he did not even leave his email address. It is a real shame! In conclusion: “This one belongs to the horror files”.2/15/13: The President of the Company, Steve, stayed in touch with me to see how my experience was. After pointing out the deficiencies he immediately sent me an improved mirror that fixed all the issues. I have been using the new mirror for a few weeks and it is flawless. Thank you Steve for an incredible customer support, continuing to listen to your customers and improving your products. I will not think twice about ordering products from you in the future!

Perfect Shower Mirror
This is the shower mirror I’ve wanted for years. It doesn’t fog, stays clean, and is big enough to give me a full view of my face.I’ve used many other mirrors over the years and they were all let downs. Every one of them fogged up, got permanent water spots, and eventually fell off the wall. I was constantly wiping fog off them while I shaved and then got a spotty view of my face barely good enough to let me see where to put the razor.Fogging happens when a mirror’s surface is cooler than the surrounding moist air. Filling the reservoir behind this mirror with hot water from the shower makes it warmer than the surrounding air so that fogging is impossible. I fill the reservoir at the beginning of my shower and it stays clear all the way to the end. On nights that I don’t shave, I leave the reservoir empty and it fogs like any other mirror but clears up immediately if I fill it just to see what happens. The model I bought has LED lights around the mirror’s edge. They give a very nice white light with a slightly blue tint that reminds me of those high quality head lights on some cars. I don’t use the LEDs because I wear glasses and need to keep my face close to the mirror when I shave. At that close distance the LEDs are too bright and it’s hard to see my face. If I move back a little, my face seems to be well lit but I can’t see myself clearly enough to shave. In my opinion, the LEDs are a good feature if you have reasonably good eye sight, but you don’t need them otherwise because you’ll be so close to the mirror. (For comparison, my eye sight is about 20/200, I’m in my 50s, and I wear progressive lenses.)I did think that including a squeegee with mirror was a bit weird, but now I see how it helps. Using the squeegee at the end of a shower prevents those permanent water spots from forming. I wish the silicon blade was a little wider so there was more distance between my fingers and the mirror when I use it, but its OK the way it comes.I can also comment on one complaint I saw from other reviewers, the distorted “fun house mirror” effect. I had that too briefly, but figured out that it was because I had my mirror angled forward on it’s mount. Apparently, the weight of the water behind the mirrors surface is enough to make the mirror bulge a little if you tilt it forward. The farther you tilt, the more the mirror bulges and the more “fun house” distortion you get. I solved the problem by just adjusting the mirror to the “straight up and down” position on the bracket and haven’t had a problem since. There was one difference between the mirror I received and the mirror advertised. The description on Amazon says that it comes with a silicon adhesive that you apply around the edge of the mounting bracket and then stick to the wall. That’s not what I got. My mounting bracket had a full size adhesive backing. Peel off the paper, press it to the wall and that’s it. Mine is still rock solid after a little over a month of use. I did email the company to ask if the mount could be removed if I ever needed to move the mirror. They responded the next day and said I could remove it by warming it with a blow dryer and peeling it up slowly. They also said they sell single use replacement adhesive backings if I ever do need to remove the mount.Bottom Line: This mirror is as good as it sounds and does what it says it does. I recommend it.

Totally fog-free!
Every time I shave in the shower I think about writing this review. I’ve had the mirror for over four months now. Using water to prevent fog is ingenious! It works perfectly, and the included squeegee wipes the mirror clean after filling up the reservoir with shower water. (The hot water in the reservoir behind the mirror equals the temperature of the air in front of it, which prevents fog.)I was not happy with my initial placement of the mirror, so I took it down and moved it to a different wall. But to do that I had to buy new double-stick tape, as the original is strictly one-time. However, it has stayed put with no trouble ever since. So think carefully about where you want the mirror. Also, I recommend using a carpenter’s level, because once stuck, it’s stuck.I would give this five stars, but the light is terrible. If I looked like that I’d shoot myself. It makes you look grey-blue, with no contrast. That’s actually one of the reasons I changed the location of the mirror. I initially thought I’d be shaving with that light, so I wasn’t worried about room light. When I saw the poor quality of the light I realized I was going to have to rely on existing light. So the light deducts a star.In summary, great mirror for shaving in the shower.

I decided to get a mirror for the shower since I started wet shaving my head recently. After allot of research I decided to go for this one.It only took a few minutes to install – simply attach the supplied stickers and silicone gel to the holder and stick it on the shower wall. It feels sturdy to me.I would recommend getting the deluxe version as it’s just the right size, I would imagine the smaller version being a bit too small. This one gives you a good view of your face without taking up too much room on the wall, and it never fogs up as long as you remember to fill it with warm shower water first.I don’t really see the point of the LED lights – I’ve never even bothered to install the supplied batteries. Maybe if your bathroom isn’t very bright they might be useful. One piece of advice – be careful about where in the shower you are installing it. I placed mine where it is not in direct firing line from the shower head, so I get very few splashes on it.All in all, highly recommended.UPDATE: 2 years on and this mirror is still working very well.Another UPDATE : Almost 4 years on and the mirror is still going strong.Another UPDATE: 11 years on and this mirror is still working well for me.
