HeatnBond SpraynBond Quilt Basting Adhesive Fabric Spray, 7.2 OZ (204g) is a temporary bond spray adhesive for fabric. Use it in your design phase for pattern piecing and determining applique placement. Great for holding templates onto fabric and assembling landscape quilts.
Use it while sewing to eliminate pinning of appliques and hoop marks. Perfect for holding stabilizers onto fabrics during embroidery or holding backing fabric to batting.
General Directions: Hold can upright, 12 inches from back of fabric surface. Press nozzle and apply adhesive to back of fabric surface in a sweeping (side to side) motion to lightly and evenly coat surface, making sure to cover all edges. Wait 30 seconds, then press sprayed item onto project while still tacky, repositioning as needed. Before storing, hold can upside down and press for a short burst to clear nozzle.
Tips for best results: A little goes a long way; remember to apply a light coating from 12 inches away. When spraying on or near project, protect your project and workspace from any over-spray. Clean off work surface with soap and water, but please note that heavier applications may be difficult to remove from some surfaces.

Customers say
Customers find the adhesive spray works well for putting quilt sandwiches together and holds materials firmly in place, making machine quilting easy. Moreover, the product is great for embroidery needs and has no odor. However, the spray quality and durability receive mixed feedback – while some say it sprays well and is durable, others report clogged nozzles and broken sprayers. Additionally, opinions on value are divided, with some finding it a good value while others consider it a waste of money.

Very strong adhesive but easy to peel off too
I love this adhesive spray! I tried the fabric glue stick and it didn’t work at all for me, it wasn’t as sticky as this. This is great for someone who’s embroidering because it actually stabilized my fabric. Definitely can’t recommend this enough!

For sandwiching quilts..
Holds quilt sandwich together and still tacky when moved

Better than expected hold, goes a LONG way
Works better than I expected. Holds tight, and doesn’t smell too bad. (It does have a smell, however that reminds me of Desenex Foot Powder.) There is a slight learning curve to using the spray. Mainly, don’t use too much in a small area, hold the spray can at least a foot above the fabric to be sprayed and place the next piece on as soon as possible. It remains tacky for several minutes. Also, you can lift off and replace pieces but you have to be very careful not to stretch the diagonal grain because they can stick VERY tightly. I had one piece get crumpled and wrinkled and found the best thing to do is DON’T TRY TO STRAIGHTEN it without completely lifting it up. You can’t pull it back straight, you must take the glued piece off and then re-set it.I have paid more than this for other quilting sprays and only got one side glued to the batting, and half the front. This little can has allowed me to applique the entire front, stick the backing to the batting, stick the front to the batting, stick the quilting paper to the front, and it is still at least half full. The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is that contrary to the package claims it does indeed create little gummy balls on the needle after time. They clean off easy enough, but they are there.

Better than pinning
I’ve used basting spray before but I remember the fumes and mess and just stuck with pins. After many crooked quilts and frustration, I had enough of pins and wanted to try spray again. This spray worked well. I watched some good tutorials on the proper way to spray a quilt and it made all the difference. I used it on a twin size quilt and used most of the contents for reference. I’m happy with my finished quilt, it looks amazing.

What a great invention! I use this when creating machine embroidery designs on my Janome. Works wonderfully with very little spray, just enough to keep the material where I want it to stay. Also works when I’m machine embroidering onto rope creations like trivets, bowls and placemats. What did we ever do before this invention?
