The SprayMax 3680222, DTM Topcoat Black High Gloss is an ultra durable paint finish that can be applied to direct to properly cleaned and sanded steel, galvanized, and aluminum without the use of a primer. However, for optimum performance and corrosion resistance it is recommended to use one of the 2K Epoxy Primers 3680032, 3680033, 3680034 or 2K Wash Primer 3684029. This 2-part paint is very cool. Simple to use, but you have to be completely ready to spray once you break the bubble. Do not count on touching up after the first application–as you get to the last 20% of the can, it will start spitting (like any other spray can, i’m sure) and you won’t like the results. I was painting a vintage motorcycle frame, one piece off, several pieces (swingarm) still on and taped out. The can worked fine, finish is nice (if not a direct match for 54-year old original) but it will do till I strip the whole thing down and power coat it. All in all, a good product.

Great paint but not a deep black
Best spray paint you can buy but has the same “black” color from every other spray paint I’ve tried. Its not a dark black more like a very dark grey.

Professional results in a can
I needed to repaint the sunroof trim on my car due to clear coat pealing. I decided to give this top coat paint a try. It did have orange peel after it dried but it was not bad at all. Just follow the directions and you will get great results. I was able to wet sand, cut and polish the paint to a mirror like finish easily. We’ll see how long it lasts but it seems to be a very durable surface.Also other reviews said the color looks dark grey. I can confirm it is dark grey but it’s very hard to notice a difference. It matches the sunroof glass and that’s good enough for me.

Bleh
Sprays terrible, rediculous amount of orange peel for mirror covers. Now needs to be sanded and buffed. Ive used other brand canned 2k paint and was actually impressed by how they spray, and im used to spraying out of a gun(do auto restoration for a living). Theres no reason i should have problems with mirror covers. Rustoleum sprays better then this. Only reason i get the 2k cans is to save time and is easier to charge on small stuff like these mirrors. This turned out to be more work. First and last time using this brand. Oh yeah and its not black at all, it looks grey compared to an actual black paint.

Lays down real well, cures (dries) fast
I really like this paint. Its pricy but works well and lays down super nice.

It is most definitely NOT black, its a haze or dark grey-like color. Wasted money and a lot of prep work.
