Straightening & Smoothing – This boar bristle brush is best used for styling, smoothing, and straightening hair. Suitable for all hair types and even gentle enough for use on wigs and extensions.
Boar and Nylon Bristles – This styling brush is designed with natural boar bristles that soften, condition, and add shine to hair. The slightly longer nylon bristles make it easier for the bristle tuft to penetrate and detangle.
Stops Breakage & Detangles – A protective rubber cushion is designed to collapse when it meets resistance like tangles and knots, reducing breakage. This smoothing hair brush is vented with an air hole that allows air to circulate under the rubber and dry out completely between uses.
Lightweight and Easy to Use – This boar brush boasts an elegant no-slip satin handle. Weighing just 6 ounces, your hand won’t tire or cramp as you style.

Customers say
Customers find this hair brush to be comparable to high-end brushes, with soft bristles that feel pleasant on the scalp and leave hair shiny and smooth. The brush is durable, works well with thick hair, and comes in a size that’s perfect for traveling. While some customers appreciate the firm bristles, others find them too rough for their scalp. Customers consider it good value for money.

This brush is awesome
I can’t believe I’m writing a review on a hair brush, but here we are. Long story short, I don’t know how I’ve been without a boar bristle/nylon combo brush like this for so long. I had no idea what I was missing. I was at my hairstylist recently and she used this brush to loosen up my waves after she used the curling iron. I was shook- I always struggle with taking my just-curled hair from springy to more “lived in” and beachy. Yet she runs this brush through my hair a few times and my hair was suddenly loosely wavy and perfect. She also explained that boar bristle brushes are awesome because they do a great job of distributing scalp oil throughout the length of your hair. Who doesn’t want more moisturized hair and a less oily scalp? The brush she used on me was the Mason Pearson one that costs something like $150-$200. I’m sorry, but there is just no way I’d spend that on a brush. She told me to look for a dupe and here we are! Obviously I don’t have both brushes for comparison, but I feel like this one is high-quality and I can personally tell no difference between this and the one she used on me. The effect it has on my hair seems exactly the same. If you want to splurge on the MP, go for it, but I personally don’t see a need when this one is working so wonderfully. Highly recommend this brush!Edit: I’ve now had this brush for almost 4 years! I truly can’t recommend it enough. I’m a 2x/week hair washer, so I rely on this brush every day in between washes to distribute any scalp oil down my lengths and ends and keep tangles at bay. I have fine hair strands but a lot of it, so tangles are a constant issue for me, but this brush is so gentle and yet really gets the job done for me. I feel like this is the only brush I’ve ever used that has truly improved the health and quality of my hair! It really keeps my hair silky and manageable, and I’m convinced it allows me to go a little longer between wash days as well. I’m about to buy a replacement, but honestly my brush still looks great. I just think despite cleaning it regularly hair brushes eventually gets to a point where it’s time to start fresh! I am at a point in my life where I’m willing to splurge on hair products if they are worth it, but I see no reason to upgrade this brush to the more expensive brand’s version! It’s SO good! I hope this review helps if you are on the fence about purchasing it. Highly recommend 🙂

Best Hairbrush for Fine Hair
This is the second time I’ve ordered this hair brush. The first time was 2014 and I just ordered a replacement in 2024. The boar bristles gives me shiny and smooth hair while the nylon bristles make brushing my fine long hair easy and smooth. It promotes hair health by evenly distributing oils throughout the hair. If you regularly clean the brush it will last for years. The handle is easy to hold. The brush size is ideal for all hair lengths. I cannot say enough about the quality of this hair brush.

Feels so good cleaning the scalp.
At some point after multiple pregnancies, my scalp and skin has gone bonkers. I’m constantly fighting flakes. I’ve tried all kinds of shampoos–ones specifically for dandruff, clarifying shampoo, tea tree shampoo, etc. None of them really have made much of a difference.I read one way to combat the flakes was with a good boar bristle brush. I spent way too much time researching options, but eventually purchased this porcupine brush with boar bristles and longer tourmaline bristles. I went with the Spornette brand because I have had two of their little wonder teasing brushes that I swear by and they last so long before requiring replacement. It seemed to compare to a well known brush that is supposedly the holy grail of hair brushes but with a much more affordable price point. After using it this past week, I found that the longer bristles really get to the scalp and help to break up the scales and sweep them out, in addition to doing a better job of separating each strand and distributing natural oils away from the scalp. It feels so good. I have fine hair that is just beyond shoulder length and I find that I don’t need to detangle with a wet brush first. I just start from the ends with light strokes and work my way up to the scalp.Today I gave my head a good brushing before getting in the shower, and when I looked at my scalp after the shower, it seemed cleaner than usual, but I still had flakes when I blow dryed my hair. I’m hoping with regular use, the flaking will be less and less.Cleaning out the hair that collects is easy with a comb I have, but I will have to figure out how to get deeper to all the flakes I see collecting on the red pad. I might try a vacuum cleaner hose with strong suction because I want to avoid getting it wet since I don’t know how it would impact the bristles.

Good brush.
Good brush, close dupe to the expensive one, the board bristles goes only halfway to the nylon bristles,The original goes 3/4 ways. Just fyi.No complaints here the price was great.Thanks.

LOVE This Brush!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this brush!! I bought the mini brush to carry in my fanny pack. It’s firmness / consistency is perfect!… I have long hair 3/4 of the way down my back. I have used “Porcupine” brushes for the past 20+ years. Sometimes Porcupine brushes can be too soft / pliable. Not this brush. Absolutely perfect!!

I’m pretty impressed with this little brush! The brush itself is only 7 inches long and the bristle area is about 3.5 x 2 inches so it’s the perfect size for traveling with.I have long, fine straight hair and the mix of nylon and boar bristles helps to easily detangle my hair. I got it to replace the mini brush I keep in my purse and this one seems more gentle than my old one and it has been doing just as good a job. I think it has improved my overall hair health.

Easy to use, feels great brushing my hair. I have very fine hair so its perfect, a bit on the small side but I am happy with it.

Great little brush. Not as full or natural as the Big Wonder by Spornette, but it makes it through really thick hair and my scalp feels tingly and happy after it’s 100 strokes. (Yes, these are the brushes you do 100 strokes with, on co-washed, healthy hair! – Not plastic brushes on chemically treated, over shampooed locks). I have a hard time finding a full boar bristle brush that will go through my hair, but the nylon bristles help with that. I don’t brush my hair when wet, so can’t speak on that. Easy to clean, the bristles are well spaced. The handle is comfy, though feels a bit flimsy. The rubber helps with static (haven’t experienced any) and cushion and no bristles missing. If I cut my hair real short again, it would be a great brush for my mini Husky-Chi’s thick coat!

causes too much static and the bristles are too rough!
