A gentle sugar scrub
I’ve only had experience with two other sugar exfoliant scrubs before: one Beauty Exfoliating Crush Scrub and another Coffee scrub. This one from Shea Moisture is the mildest of the three I’ve used; the other two are more abrasive. Though sugar is listed as the first ingredient in this scrub, the consistency is somewhat almost like a thick slime. The first two times I used this, I applied it under running water from the shower head on my already wet body. It didn’t feel like it did much; it turned milky and briefly felt like a gentle beaded or gel-like exfoliant face wash. Once I tried scrubbing before wetting my body (similar to using facial cleansing oil) and then continued scrubbing with a bit more water, I noticed a more opaque white milk form after you add water, just like using facial cleansing oil. Nothing bad, but different from my experience with other body scrubs. I do like the fact that this product is sealed, (I’ve seen another product at the local drugstore that didn’t have a safety seal at all.) The smell is pretty strong when you are using; it isn’t pure coconut but more like pina colada, perhaps due to the shea butter. When you wash it off, the smell is barely noticeable, and I smell only of my body wash on my skin by the time I’m done showering.I personally prefer a more abrasive method of exfoliation, like my trusty green Korean exfoliating glove, but my husband likes a more gentler approach and prefers sugar scrubs. This works well; I did not experience any skin reactions. It is very mild for me but worked well for my husband. He mentioned it smells like sunscreen and he doesn’t love the scent. The product is fine, but you should probably skip it if you don’t like gentle exfoliant scrubs or coconut-scented products. Otherwise, this is mild, and I would recommend it to someone with more sensitive skin or a teenager.

A body scrub that exfoliates while leaving your skin deeply nourished and silky smooth
I recently tried the SheaMoisture Shea Sugar Body Scrub with Virgin Coconut Oil, and I have to say—it’s a game-changer for my skincare routine. I was looking for a body scrub that exfoliates without being too harsh, and this one delivers perfectly. The first thing I noticed when I opened the jar was the scent—it’s a warm, tropical coconut fragrance that isn’t overpowering but lingers softly on the skin after use. It feels like a little spa moment every time I use it. The texture is thick and grainy, which is exactly what I want in a scrub. It spreads easily and provides a satisfying exfoliation without feeling too abrasive. What I love most is how hydrating it is. Thanks to the coconut oil and shea butter, my skin feels incredibly soft and moisturized right after rinsing. I don’t even feel the need to apply lotion immediately afterward, which is a big plus on busy days. I’ve also noticed that with regular use (about 2-3 times a week), my skin looks smoother and has a subtle glow.If I had to find a downside, I’d say it can leave a slight residue in the shower because of the oils, but honestly, that’s a small price to pay for how good it makes my skin feel.Overall, if you’re looking for a body scrub that exfoliates while leaving your skin deeply nourished and silky smooth, this is a must-try. I’m already planning to repurchase!

Smells amazing!
This SheaMoisture Shea Daily Hydration Sugar Body Scrub smells so good!! The tub is a good size, and the scrub is a nice consistency. The scrub is easy to scoop up and apply. The scrub is gentle, yet leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple. It’s non irritating, and doesn’t skin. It gives my skin a nice glow, and feels nice and moisturized. The scent lingers, and is a great base scent that goes with any lotion or perfume. This is a great way to slough off skin cells while adding an extra boost of hydration!

Smells great!
This smells really good and makes my skin feel super soft after use. The big sugar grabuales though don’t do much for scrubbing, as they just kind of slip to the side when you’re scrubbing but if you use a scrubber pad instead of your hand, it gets to work a little better. It’s really nice to have decent exfoliation after a long, drying winter in preparation for beautiful summer skin!

A little pricey but fine
Spending 12 bucks on a small jar of exfoliating scrub seems to have been normalized, but that is pretty expensive for something most people really don’t need. This scrub has a faint but pleasant coconut smell which I like. The scrub itself works well but is still gentle. I’m enjoying it as something to try, but I definitely will not re-buy it. It’s just another plastic container that’ll end up in a landfill somewhere.

Gentle exfoliation
This sugar scrub from Shea Moisture is a lovely addition to my routine. It is a very gentle exfoliant. It feels like the kind of exfoliant I could use on a more regular basis and not worry about being too rough. It has a lovely coconut scent. It smells really strong when using it but by the time it is rinsed it is the perfect light scent. The tropical scent is perfect for the upcoming warm months.

I love the scent of this body scrub, it’s a very light clean scent.
I love the scent of this body scrub, it’s a very light clean scent. The virgin coconut oil AND shea butter make it so my skin doesn’t get dried out. It also is not greasy, so it’s such a great scrub to use daily. My only con is that the scrub isn’t as exfoliating as I like, I feel it needs more abrasive material for me to like it. I prefer my scrubs thick, this one is a lot more loose. Still really good quality though, enjoy it a lot.
