Feels good; time will tell
My wife has tried using this serum and says it is nice enough. She says it goes on smoothly, absorbs rapidly, and doesn’t seem to leave any unwanted residue on her skin. Time will tell whether or not this works on her wrinkles and dark spots, but she is encouraged so far and likes how it makes her skin feel. She said she would not purchase again at the current price of $21.99, because there are other products out there she likes better, for less money. However, if price isn’t an object, we would certainly recommend trying this.

This SYABO Retinol Serum for Face comes in a shrink wrapped box that you’ll need a sissors, knife, or sharp finger nails to cut through. Inside the box is a luxurious looking glass bottle that is flat black and opaque. It almost makes me feel like it’s ceramic or stone. A real look of quality.The serum is applied using the included eye dropper, but be careful! My first time I filled the dropper (probably a mistake) and when I squeezed the bulb to release the serum, it came out quickly and all over my face. It was more liquidy than I expected. I thought it would be a little denser enabling me to put drops on my face. Next time, I won’t fill the applicator, and maybe I’ll have better control.The instructions advise applying the serum after having washed and applied any face lotions you may be using, so this would be a final step in your face routine.Squalane is one of the ingredients listed, and I didn’t know what that was, so I checked online and found information about it. Turns out, our bodies manufacture this and it is a valuable chemical. I’ve included an image of the list of ingredients, which is long. Do your research for any ingredient you don’t recognize or understand. Make sure you’re not allergic to anything. Follow the instructions on the package. The bottle has no instructions, so read the box before you throw it away. Happy face serum!

Not Good
There are other brands not made in China that have retinol and you can feel work. This was not good. Smells like grapefruit. Doesn’t feel or look good. I’m unsure about the quality or amount of retinol in this but I would not buy it if I was you. Advanced Clinicals is my go to brand and they are available here on Amazon. It’s cheap and you can feel it work.

Ingredient list is good, but can’t feel retinol
I looked up the first half of the ingredient list (through Ethylhexylglycerin) and everything looks good/safe. Most are forms of moisturizing agents or compounds to aid in the consistency of the product itself.I used this for a week at night on a clean face and then applied my normal moisturizer as retinol is known to be drying. I thought my skin looked nicely moisturized and smooth in the morning, however, my pores on my cheeks appeared more noticeable. I stopped using it and started again and noticed the same thing. Retinol is supposed to reduce the size of pores, so I’m not sure what is causing that.I found it odd that this is advertised as a retinol serum without providing any % of the retinol concentration, so I conducted a little experiment. I use a .25mm microneedling roller under my chin. I once applied Peach & Lily lactic acid serum after using my roller and it stung. Retinol should have the same stinging effect after microneedling, but when I applied this serum, I felt zero discomfort. That might sound like a good thing, but what that really means is that the retinol concentration in this product is too low to be felt, meaning it’s too low to be effective.For the price, it seems to be a decent moisturizing serum, but I cannot recommend it as a retinol product.

Noticeable Difference
So I’m in my 40’s and just started noticing very fine wrinkles on my forehead. As most of us who like to preserve our youth as much as possible, I ordered this SYABO Retinol Firming Serum with hopes that those unwanted lines on my forehead would magically disappear. Alas, they have not disappeared but that being said, after using this serum exclusively across my forehead for a month now, I can see that those wrinkles have faded quite a bit. One drop. two times a day (morning and evening), followed by my daily moisturizer and/or sunscreen – that’s been the routine and it’s been working very well. The serum absorbs well into my skin and doesn’t leave any sticky or greasy feelings, and dries to a natural finish to match my natural skin. I have not had any adverse reactions while using this product, either. It seems to be gentle enough for sensitive skin. I am very happy with this Retinol serum and do recommend!
