Shiny Silk Press Thick Hair
Rare shampoo/conditioner that works on multiple hair types. I have very thick hair and this duo works so well I can use the amount of conditioner that I need without worrying. The pump makes me feel like I’m at a salon. Easy to use in shower or washing hair over the tub. I use with the oil for blow dry silk press and literally looks like an expensive silk press. People thought I got my hair done

Great product, crappy pumps
I absolutely love the product, which is why I ordered the large sizes. However, as a previous reviewer mentioned, the pumps don’t work, which is really annoying. When you spend this much on hair care products it would really be nice if the things they came in worked like they’re supposed to. I’m going to have to go buy some.

Phenomenal product.
This is excellent quality hair care. It is sulfate free and works very well with my sensitive scalp. My hair is bouncy, residue free and healthy.

Making my hair EXTREMELY DRY
This is horrible I don’t know why this product that I ordered off of amazon feels different but my hair is so extremely dry when ai am using this product that it feels like I just got our of a chlorinated pool. This shampoo is absolutely HORRIBLE!! If I could have returned this product I would have. I do not even use it because I feel like my hair is falling out!

Pump doesn’t work for shampoo
Of course I love Moroccan oil shampoo, and love that they have this size, however, the pump doesn’t work for the shampoo because the shampoo is too thick for the pump. I can pump out the conditioner but I have to inconveniently open the shampoo bottle and get shampoo out of the bottle every time instead of being able to use the pump. Please fix your pump, it’s not bigenough for the thickness of the shampoo!

The two bottles (shampoo and conditioner) were extremely difficult to open as they came. I had to enlist the help of someone, because try as I might, the “open/stop” mechanism would just endlessly spin. Once they succeeded, I thanked them profusely, then washed my hair, dispensing some shampoo from the bottle in an upright position… directly onto the bottle itself. I then extracted the shampoo from the top of the bottle with my hands while water was running everywhere as I was turned away. The pump nozzle could be a bit longer to allow for dispensing into the hand in an upright position. Now for the shampoo and conditioner themselves. For context, I have a dry scalp that is prone to dead skin buildup as well as porous shoulder-length wavy 2C hair that often gets tangled and whose ends often split, but that is very easy to get volume into. I got the Hydrating variant of the hair care set, and that is pretty much all it does – no frizz control, no repair of split ends, no volumising. I would expect someone with wavy 2A or straight 1 hair to fail to get volume on the Hydrating variant, for example. But it does hydrate dry scalps very well, making them soft, and clean well. The shampoo being sulfate-free, it does not foam and destroy hair as much as sulfate-containing shampoos, which is a great advantage even though it can be disorienting to those who are used to suds. It also doesn’t have harsh fragrances, only those in the natural oils, which is nice if you’re sensitive to scents, but you could still react to the oils’ own fragrances, which differ per variant. As usual, the shampoo is meant to be applied to the scalp, and the conditioner is meant to be applied to the hair tips; applying the conditioner to the scalp may make it too oily. Those with short hair will not be able to make this distinction very easily and will have a hard time with this set. One (2.5 mL) or two (5 mL) pumps of the shampoo should suffice for one wash, or three (7.5 mL) if your head shape is such that your scalp is big; the number of pumps of the conditioner will depend on the length of your hair, between one (2.5 mL) for cheek-length hair and four (10 mL) for waist-length hair. This means that, with 2 washes a week, the 500 mL bottles should last respectively around 33 to 100 weeks (16 to 50 if you systematically do double washes) for the shampoo, depending on your scalp size, and 25 to 100 weeks for the conditioner, depending on your hair length. If you don’t know EXACTLY what you need out of shampoo and conditioner but want to know which of the 4 variants of Moroccanoil you would need, I would recommend starting with an inexpensive brand with sulfate-free, silicone-free, paraben-free shampoo and silicone-free, paraben-free conditioner that does what you think you need, then get another variant from that inexpensive brand that does something else if the first one doesn’t work, or ask the advice of a stylist (especially if you don’t know if you have a dry scalp or dandruff) until you find what you need before plonking down serious money into Moroccanoil products. You might also find that you don’t need Moroccanoil products, and that’s also perfectly OK.
