Holy cow, RUN don’t walk- and grab these! If you’re into the “influencer” make up trends scene you already know about that “name brand” Black Honey Almost Lipstick. So, the claim to fame for it is its literally the perfect shade for everyone. Regardless of your skin color or tone, it looks great. It’s weird magic in a tube. After having used the real thing- this is an exact dupe. But the best part? It’s a set of two for the price of one of the name brand ones…. the partner in this duo is pink honey, which is also very pretty! I want to put a shout out here for my *ahem* ladies of a certain age. I’m in my 50s and sometimes newer make up trends are simply not built for our skin types and tones. Just put those worries away- while my 20 something daughter loves her black honey almost lipstick, and looks fabulous in it, I can wear it too! This works for young OR older skin/lips.

I have never been one to make my make up stand out. I like to use makeup subtely. I started using tinted chapstick a few years ago, but it is not even noticeable. To make it worse – every one I tried made my lips dry out. I have also used lip stains and those were even more dry and also left and creases or cracked stand out dark while the rest of it was unnoticeable….I do not have that problems at all with this product. My lips stay soft and do not dry out. It applies evenly. It is dark enough is a really males your lips stand out but is still not too much. Both colors look great (the black is not black in your face – just a darker shade of your lip color). I am extremely satisfied with the quality for the price and I will be using this exclusively from now on.

Where’s the black?
I was sent a pink color and a dark pinkish brown color. No black in sight. The colors are okay, but neither seem particularly flattering on me. They’re flat and sticky and don’t stay put, though they are pretty moisturizing at least at first (I didn’t leave them on long because I wasn’t a fan of the colors, but they did come off easily at least). There’s only about an inch of product in the tubes as well, so you’re not getting that much with such a thin stick. I just think, personally, they aren’t worth it for me.
