It’s the best beard balm I’ve found to tame a stubborn, unruly beard.
I’ve used this for about four years. It’s the best beard balm I’ve found to tame a stubborn, unruly beard. A slightly larger than pea-sized dab rubbed between the palms until it liquefies, then massaged into a damp to wet beard before combing or blow drying, does the deed without feeling or looking greasy, and leaves a nice sheen. It lasts all day and has a pleasant, woodsy scent. Do not overdo it or you’ll have an oil slick on your shirt collar.

Honest Amish for Life!
I will never turn to another product! I know it may sound exaggerated but I’ve been buying goods from our local Lancaster County Amish community for decades. But I had never given a thought as to how they keep their beards so nice and fresh looking. This is a group that has had beards for centuries! I decided to give it a shot and I’m completely sold! They use all organic ingredients that leaves the beard and my mustache soft and manageable. I use their oil and balm right out of the shower. I few dabs of oil and then the balm while the beard and mustache is damp. I grew a handlebar mustache a few years ago and gave up due to the Daily use of heavy wax to keep it together. Since using these products, my mustache is so manageable that it stays in the handlebar shape all day and there’s no heavy wax or buildup. Let me not forget to mention that I’m in my 1st month of growth and this is the time when the hairs aren’t trained!!! So I can pull out my comb anytime to freshen it up along with the beard with ease! I use their Beard and Body soap for the initial wash, and then the oil followed by the balm. For me it’s been the perfect trio. The bonus for me is the manly woodsy scent it has instead of perfumes.

Great Product for the New Beards or the Full Grown Beards.
Scent: It has a citrus scent with a spicy under-note. The scent is really not strong at all. I use the regular Beard Balm and lots of reviewers By the time l put on hair products and cologne or body spray the scent is gone. I really like them both. This scent is weaker and I notice it on me far less than the regular Beard Balm. ingredient list on my new tin changed slightly from what it says on my old tin. I was kinda sad about that because I LOVE the scent of this stuff and didn’t consider it to be that strong in the first place. So, there you have it. If you want less scent, their new formulation has less scent.)Hold: It’s not bad. I use quite a bit–mostly for the conditioning–and I think it holds up pretty well even after my 9 or 10 hour work days. It is really not a sculpting type of wax, l am looking for something stronger my beard is more bushy than l want, but l keep going through the growth phase.Conditioning: It’s been every bit as good as the regular Beard Balm at softening, thickening, and keeping my beard itch and flake free. It’s good stuff. Makes me wonder what I was doing growing beards without a conditioning oil.Is it greasy? Well, it’s a conditioning oil. It has a bunch of different oils in it. If you’ve used a beard oil before, you know what you’re in for. If you’re wary, just use small amounts. With a small amount, your beard should soak it up quickly and you’ll hardly notice anything at all. Just rub the extra in to your mustache or side burns, dont waste it.How do you use it? As recommended, I “melt” it in my hand and apply it to a damp beard. At this point, I do a “gentle” styling with my comb and wait about 10 to 20 minutes for my beard to dry. Once my beard is totally dry, I’ll get out the comb or a “barrel” brush and do a more aggressive shaping and fluffing. At this point, the wax has set pretty well so you can move your beard around more.Should I buy the bigger tin? If you have a big beard, you aren’t shaving it any time soon, and you want lots of conditioning and lots of hold–yes. Otherwise, this smaller tin will last you two months or so–with everyday use–depending on how much you use each day. I use the large tin and even using larger amounts it seems to last a long long time.Should I get the regular balm instead? If you aren’t concerned about shaping your beard and you want good conditioning–yes. Is it worth the price? Yes. Shipping was really fast. l did see its available at Wal Marts, but l still purchased from Amazon. The tin is nice and sturdy. Combine this with a good hair conditioner for the shower and you’ll love the results. Even if I only got, let’s say, one month of use out of a tin, I’d still say that it’s worth it. It really makes a big difference compared to growing a beard without it.

Excellent product
I like this balm. I was previously using Cremo balm. It didn’t seem to do much for taming frizz or conditioning, despite having a far firmer and more waxy feel. The Honest Amish is buttery so you can scoop a little out of the tin with your fingertip and rub it on your palms for a few seconds and it melts to a nice consistency. it applies nice and evenly through a damp, or even dry beard. Finish with a brush or comb and I’m looking good. My beard is softer in just a week and has fewer flyaways. The scent is so subtle that it might as well not even be there. My only complaint is that it can leave an ever-so slightly greasy feel if you’re not careful. I know that’s the case with most balms but it seems to do so a little more than the Cremo did. A small price to pay for all the other benefits. I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could. I may experiment with other brands later, but for now I’m very pleased with this.

I’ve gone through my fair share of beard oil/balm to find something that works for me. This really seems to nail a good balance of hold/moisturizing, without being overly greasy. The smell is a mix of spice and molasses. It’s very unique to what I’ve used in the past and I was really surprised by it – but in a good way. It definitely suits the brands name haha. The balm itself is on the softer side, but with some good hold. My beard is pretty curly so between this and my morning routine (straightening/brushing) this has been excellent at softening my beard. A little bit also goes a long way, I use probably just over a dime-size of balm and it works for my beard (longish length).Overall, very happy and I will continue to support this brand based on this balm alone.
