Sophisticated engineering in a small barette
This barette is a life-saver for a person like me with thin layered hair. ALL of my hair measures about 2 inches in circumference when gathered in a pony tail Which is not much. Larger clips simply slip off or hold well in the middle part of the clip while allowing the hair on either side slide through the gaps by the hinges. This barette does have a tiny clap mechanism that is harder to secure than the more common one-handed designs. You have to hold the barette with one hand and pinch the clasp with the other while engaging the bar into the clasp. Sounds complicated, but this little thing does a lot in a very little space, which equals sophisticated engineering in my book! MOST IMPORTANTLY the clip holds my hair all day long, doesn’t dig into my scalp AND I can wear in the car without interfering with the head rest. OK another important thing is this replaces rubber bands which tug and tear at my hair. This protects my hair while growing it out and doesn’t pull on my scalp. No headaches or irritation! Thank you France Luxe for engineering clips for the many different needs of women with longish hair!

Perfect shape and diameter for medium ponytail
Had 3 of this style already and love the size and grasp — perfect for medium half-ponytail of medium hair-thickness. Design of cover great for brown/graying/blond hair. A bit pricey but other sources apparently no longer stock.

Not expected France Luxe quality
I’ve bought these in the past directly from the France Luxe website and LOVED them. Was expecting the same quality this time, but the barrette that arrived (with FL tags) was flimsy and the clasp doesn’t work regardless of amount of hair. Returned it without issues, but probably won’t be buying this brand in the future.

This barrette is beautiful! The black and silver pattern (Opera Silver) is blingy without being tacky, and I love the narrow, yet capacious profile.A word about the seller: I’d ordered several barrettes. All but two were out of stock. When I opened the package, not only were the two I’d paid for exquisitely wrapped, but they’d enclosed a fabulous ponytail holder that I LOVE! Yes, the France Luxe brand is expensive, but these are heirloom quality barrettes, and definitely a good value for your money.

doesn’t fit all my hair, still waiting for a refund
It looks just like the picture, however the reason I bought this clip was to have something chic that could hold all of my thick hair. Don’t be fooled by all that space! It doesn’t even close halfway when I try to put it on. Sent it back a month ago for a refund and have yet to hear back at all

Good product
This barrette is smaller than I imagined. It’s still OK, but as the closure mechanism is slightly different from the classic barrette, it takes a bit of getting used to. And the closure is not as easy to deal with when I’m trying to fix my hair after twisting it. But it’s still pretty.
