My old brittle hair feels replenished and young again and that SHINE! Oh MY!
I have used Aveda products for years on my hair and in the past few months have been bewildered by why my hair has looked so frizzed out. So when I saw this product from Biloage, I decided to give it a try and I am very happy with the results. In my 70 years I have always battled dry, flyaway hair and maybe its because I hit 70 that my hair decided to get extra contrary. I immediately gave this a try after my bath and was surprised at how much better it looked than using the old brand. Extra shine and not nearly so much disarray. I even took a hefty nap and the pic is from late night and it is still amazing without even combing it. Not too much of a scent, which is good, and one small Smooth squirt was all I needed. This 3.4 oz should last me quite a long time, and even at this price I think it is worth every penny. I will say that the light grey print on the transparent bottle makes it a challenge to read the label, which is my only complaint.

Definitely works but heavy
I like BIOLAGE products, especially for the scalp care shampoo and conditioner. But recently, my hair got really dry after perm so I gave this product a try. To be honest, it’s an excellent product if you have long hair, since you don’t have frizz around the root area, so it will actually work well at the end of the hair. Yet, this definitely weight down your hair if you use it on entire hair and gets oily pretty quickly.Ingredients:It’s heavy from the ingredients – Isododecane, dimethicone, and dimethiconol is the first 3 ingredients – practically they are supposed to be light textured since isododecane is supposed to be evaporative ingredient. But when you actually blend them into a formula without water or something else, they can be pretty heavy and weight down your hair eventually. Other than these, it’s practically all fragrances except a few. At least, due to the high concentration of the hydrocarbon and silicone, they didn’t put yacky paraben or phenoxyethanol. So I assume it’s relatively fine (but too many fragrances.)Texture: It’s heavy, you can actually feel it from the moment you apply to the hair. But it makes hair extremely silky, and brushing works like a magic, which is amazing. It also gives pretty nice shine and so-called “angel ring” but still I don’t like the weight down part so I think I will only use this when I can do blow dry after using this product. It’s a leave-on type serum and you don’t really have to wash out, but I think if you apply this near to your scalp, you may have some breakout like me. Other than this, it’s a good hair serum which actually works well.

Works ok, a bit heavier than I would like
This is a review of BIOLAGE Smooth Proof Serum – Hydrates & Heals Brittle Strands, Frizz Control Hair Serum, Infused with Camellia Oil & Glycerin, Paraben-Free, 3.4 Fl OzI often use Biolage shampoo, so I thought to try this serum, which advertises itself as hydrating, healing, and controlling frizz. My hair needs all those things. A lot. While I waited for the serum to arrive at my house, I did more looking at the listing page so I know how to use the serum. I was eager and ready for the “80% LESS FRIZZ FOR UP TO 24 HOURS.*” but what is that asterisk about? Below the paragraph, the asterisk is explained: the smooth proof serum gives 80% less frizz in this comparison: “*Smooth Proof Serum vs. non-conditioning shampoo.” This makes no sense. You cannot compare a serum to a shampoo. They do different things. This makes me suspicious of other claims about the serum. So far, I’ve been using it for the ends and to tame flyaways between shampoos. When I rub a bit of the serum on my hands and pass lightly over my hair, the flyaways are gone but some frizz remains. This serum has a lovely light scent, but the serum is a bit heavier than I like.

Another home run from Biolage. Lightweight serum oil that works on multiple hair types.
I’ve never tried a Biolage product I didn’t like, and this is no exception. If you’re used to using a heavy serum, you will be pleasantly surprised by how lightweight this is AND how well it smooths and softens hair. It worked great for my thin, frizzy hair and my daughter’s thick, coarse curls. It’s a winner! Smells great, not greasy or sticky…it just works.

Fights frizz, adds shine.
This serum smells nice and works well. Great on rainy days when my natural curls tend to look a mess. The first time I used this product, I used too much. I have chin length, baby-fine, naturally curly hair. The serum felt like it disappeared into my hands, so I felt like I wasn’t actually applying much to my hair, so I applied a little more. I shouldn’t have; it looked okay in the morning, but my hair looked oilier as the day went on. Just a cautionary tale to use this serum sparingly if you have fine hair.I was a little surprised that there was no safety seal or packaging of any kind. I had to take a star off for that. When I receive a product just kind of loose like this, without any kind of tamper proofing, I have less trust in the product. I’m fine with no packaging, but I expect some kind of safety seal on a bottle with no other protection.

smells amazing
BIOLAGE Smooth Proof Serum – Hydrates & Heals Brittle Strands, Frizz Control Hair Serum, For Frizzy Hair, With micro-dosed Camellia Oil & Glycerin, 3.4 Fl Oz. First thing I noticed about this hair oil is that it smells amazing. It has the normal biolage smell which sallys beauty supply sells the generic and it has the same smell as the original products. This oil helps control frizz. It adds shine to dull hair and helps with frizz. I’m not sure if it will “heal” your brittle strands because I’ve only used a couple of times. This is a premium brand product so the price point is a bit high.

Subject to Contamination
I looked forward to trying this BIOLAGE Smooth Proof Serum, but the bottle I received had no safety seal. The pump was locked, so there was no leakage, but the lid twisted off easily. This made the product vulnerable to contamination or deliberate tampering, so I didn’t want to risk using it on my hair. Very disappointed.
