Each of the limited botanical ingredients in this Turmeric Serum by Natrulo is thought to have dermatological benefits: grape seed oil, aloe vera, turmeric oil, frankincense oil, carrot seed oil, lemon oil, pomegranate oil. I cannot review this product on its claims of skin brightening, refining pores, healing skin, fading scars, evening skin tone, or fighting acne. I am, instead, considering its qualities as a cosmetic product—its manufacturing and application.I like that there are no long chemical names in the ingredients list. It has no artificial emulsifiers, humectants, or waxes. I like that it is manufactured in the USA, though many of these ingredients are likely sourced outside the USA. It is a cruelty free product. This matters a lot to me. There is no reason to torture sentient beings to test these sorts of products.If this turmeric oil will work to do what a Vitamin C serum with additives does, then I would continue to use this serum, though it does have one drawback that might limit where I can use it. I have applied it to my face and forearms (where I have age spots) over the last few days. It dries quickly and acts less like the oils that make up most of the ingredients and more like aloe vera (also an ingredient); it dries a bit “stiff.” I can live with this, but I am not sure that I can continue to use the serum on my face due to the fragrance. It smells strongly of lemon, frankincense, and turmeric to me. I don’t like this combined smell though the lemon and frankincense scents tend to fade quickly. Preferences for scents vary greatly, so what bothers me might be something that another consumer likes. Apart from this smell, I think that this product might be a good value, though it is too early to see results.

Brightens Skin & Lightens Age Spots
I could spell the turmeric serum before I opened the Amazon package. The serum was not sealed and leaked on the bottle and box. The look of the condition of the bottle—label sloppily put on, oil covered—made me not want to try it. The turmeric smell is strong. After reading the benefits of turmeric oil, I went ahead and put some on. It brightened my skin and lightened my dark circles and age spots.

I’m not a huge fan of the smell of Turmeric, but I could tolerate it for the sake of beauty. I would probably put something more fragrant over the top of it though, to mask the smell.The turmeric separates from the oils when it sits, so you need to shake it up before you use it (see pic). I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks on various areas, but I haven’t noticed any difference in healing properties, nor lightening of sun spots.It does soak in really well, but it still leaves the skin a little bit greasy. I’m not sure when you’re supposed to apply this. I don’t think it would do well under make-up; and if you put it on before bed, you would end up with grease stains on your pillowcases. I work from home, so I am able to apply it during the day (no make-up) without any issues; and I wash my face (and moisturize) before bed. But for people who wear make-up every day, I’m not sure when the best time to apply this would be.And obviously you’d want a regular routine to achieve the best results from it.I didn’t notice much change at all from my 2-week trial of it. I do however, appreciate the all-natural ingredient list. I’m going to give it a little longer and see if another week makes a difference. If anything changes I will update my review.

Tingles when I use… but the aftereffect is nice
First time I used this I panicked a bit because it tingled on my face (I have combination skin and have to be cautious). After a few minutes my skin did seem shinier than usual and smooth. Using it in my scalp was odd for me, but the hair felt clean, nourished without sopping with oil. The ingredient list is a must have of healthy organic oils for the skin, and the company is very honest about whats in the bottle, and what to expect on regular use. So far over the last few days with daily use I have really enjoyed the effects on my skin and hair, and I cant get over the unique smell thats a bit spicy and musky without being overpowering (I would love to see a body wash/bar soap like this for sure). For the expensive and hordes of hair and skin serums on the market with dubious claims, I would happily endorse Natrulo for its price and expectations.
