My PURPLE GORILLA OOwl Steam Eye Masks arrived in a sealed box that shows information about the product, a list of ingredients, instructions for use, a manufacture date of 12/26/2024, and an expiration date of 12/25/2027. The product is made in China. Each of the 12 masks contained inside the box is individually sealed in plastic and shows information about the product, a list of ingredients, and instructions for use. The masks are unscented.After settling down for some me time, I opened my first mask and quickly examined it. It was of good quality with soft fabric and stretchy ear loops. When I put it into place on my face, I noticed the ear loops were a little tight. I simply pulled on them a bit, and they easily stretched to a comfortable tightness. Although I did not rub my eye area as suggested in order to make the mask heat up more quickly, I noticed it did, in fact, heat up very quickly without my having to do this. It warmed to a comfortable temperature that was neither too hot nor too cool for me. It was just right, and I was able to relax with the moist heat on my eyes (as recommended by my ophthalmologist) for around 40 minutes. The mask was still warm when I removed it, and I could sense the moisture remaining around my eye area.This is not my first experience with disposable heated eye masks. I prefer them to reusable ones due to their use of lithium-ion batteries and their need for cleaning. I like that the disposable masks are sanitary, allowing me to be assured that I will not get an eye infection as a result of the mask’s having come into contact with something that could cause issues. Additionally, battery-operated masks provide dry heat. I have also tried masks that contain “beads” that are heated in microwave ovens. Unfortunately, this type proved to be too heavy for me, leaving behind pressure as a result of their weight that continued to bother me and caused me to wonder if I had injured my eyes. Disposable masks can go through TSA checkpoints and, therefore, be taken onto aircraft for use while traveling. Their convenience, ease of use, and sanitary conditions make them ideal for use anytime and anywhere.I am happy to recommend PURPLE GORILLA OOwl Steam Eye Masks for the reasons mentioned above. There are no negatives about them except, perhaps, for the price. They are, however, of the highest quality. One must judge for oneself how important that is.

Disposable Heated Eye Mask
These eye masks have a memorably stylized owl face that is not subtle, and makes me look (I am told) like a bit of a weirdo when I’m wearing one, although I’m always okay with being a weirdo. The bright purple and green owl definitely doesn’t scream “quiet time,” but then again, the person wearing the mask can’t see what it looks like, anyway.After removing a mask from its envelope, you punch out the earstrap centers and then put it on; the mask starts to self-heat in about a minute, though the instructions note that you can rub the mask for ten seconds to warm it up faster. Once warm, the masks seem to stay heated for almost an hour, and they feel comfortable and are, indeed, relaxing. I use a mask before bed when my eyes are particularly tired, and it feels soothing. These masks are not as moist or steamy, though, as some other brands I have tried, and the heat is a dry one. I would prefer if these had some moisture as well as heat, because that seems to be the most effective combination for helping to soothe my overworked eyes.

I was trying to find an easier way to apply warm compresses to deal with a stubborn stye, and read many recommendations for heated eye masks. I bought a cheap one with gel beads that you can heat up in the microwave, and while it retained heat much better than a wet washcloth, it always heated unevenly, which made each session unpredictable, and the heat wouldn’t last for a terribly long time either.These disposable one-time use masks definitely don’t have that problem. They claim to retain heat for 45-60 minutes, and that was my experience with using them! I was doubtful at first, because of how thin and flimsy it seemed. I rubbed the “eyes” for 10 seconds to speed up heating as suggested, but it still took a few minutes to ramp up to the full heat. Once it got there, the heat level was good; not too hot, and enough to feel effective.I can see the fit being finicky. It uses paper-like loops to hook on your ears, and because the mask is so light, it doesn’t make good contact with my eyes if I sit up straight. However, laying down solves this problem for me.I really like that the heat is even and lasts significantly longer than my re-heatable mask. It’s too bad that these are one-time use, as they do a much better job than my other mask. Otherwise, it’s a great product, and I think the owl design/gimmick is amusing.

These steam eye masks work very good if you suffer from dry eyes. I work at an office and for some reason after an 8 hour shift my eyes are super dry and red. I started using these and I did feel relief. I usually leave them on for 15 mins and I start feeling relief in my eyes. They warm up fast and have no odor at all.They are a bit uncomfortable to sleep with, that’s why I only leave them on for 15 mins and then remove it before I sleep. Overall this is a great product if you suffer from dry eyes.

These heating eye masks are like those disposable hand warmers but with ear straps. These are so comfortable to wear, during the day and throughout the night. I never found these to be too hot – just a nice warmth that seems to get trapped by the mask giving a sensation of steam. The ear straps are like elastic gauze that stretches to fit all head sizes. The straps hoop around your ears and are very comfortable. I wore these overnight when I had a stye in my eye for relief while I was healing. The mask was still on in the morning although no longer warm. I would definitely get these again.
