Very Great Product
This product is amazing! I have very dry and sensitive skin, and after each shave, I used to experience itchy skin. Because of this dryness, I often had small bleeding spots on my face. However, this product, along with their shaving soap, has made shaving much easier. My face stays moisturized for a while after each shave, and I don’t need to change my shaving blade as often.

Proraso Pre-shave Cream is now a permanent addition to my morning routine
I used Proraso products, i.e., shaving cream, soap, brush, and aftershave, for many years. I have been shaving for nearly 60 years and am very satisfied with my morning shave routine, which is a hot wash cloth, a facial soap, lather, and a double edge razor. I felt no need to use the pre-shave cream, but I finally decided to give it a try. After washing my face, I rubbed in the pre-shave cream. I am very pleasantly surprised. My blade glides over my skin. The Pre-shave definitely helps with shaving some of those hard to reach pockets under your chin and above your throat. The Proraso Pre-shave cream is now a permanent addition to my shaving routine.

The fragrance might be too strong for some but I like it. It is great as a pre-shave and as a post-shave making shaving effective and comfortable.

A new way to shave
I recently made the decision to leave behind this “new” way to shave with Edge gel and Mach 3’s (Fusions actually were not as good for me) partially due to the price of the blades, but a large part of me is wanting to do things the “old” way. Regarding the price of fancy blades I’m doing something that seems to be faux pas now and exercising my choice as a consumer in a “free market” and telling Gillette to “get bent.” I’m not buying their $2.00 blades anymore (Costco price). I’m trying both a double edge safety razor and a straight edge. Well, after the first shave with some shaving soap I thought would be great, it wasn’t fun. Came to the conclusion that shaving soaps may not be the way to go. I live in an arid environment; very dry here. My water is extremely hard and I don’t use a softener. And my beard is genetic from my Syrian heritage (very dense). So, ordered up some Proraso Pre-Shave Cream and some of their Shave Cream in a tube. After the first use I’ve decided that these products are what I should be using now. My only gripe about this product (4 stars, not 5) is the amount for the price. It’s a pretty small jar. However, I think you can use it sparingly and get the right effect.I apply this to my beard and spread it around evenly. About a two lightly coated fingertips seems to be enough. I then use the time it needs to soak in and soften the beard to whip up my lather, which takes about 2 minutes. The Proraso shave cream goes a long ways too, about the size of an almond is all it takes to get enough lather for a 3 pass shave if needed. The cooling sensation from the menthol is nice and makes the shave go easier for me.I did use this for some post shave as well. It helped, but not sure it’s the effect I’m going for. I think I’d like to try some other stuff as well so I just ordered another Proraso aftershave product to try out.Part of me misses the speediness that I could shave with Edge Gel and Mach 3, but I’m enjoying this new ritual of doing things the old fashioned way and saving money on blades. In my current job I need to shave more often. At the very least every other day. In my previous job I shaved whenever I wanted, which was 4 to 6 days of growth usually.I say try this product out, and the others by this company as well. I think you’ll like them. I’ll definitely be re-ordering. Definitely since the seller is fulfilling through Amazon so I can use my Prime membership to get them quick.

Fantastic pre-shave cream
Let me first put this out there. I hate pre-shave oil. I’ve only used high quality pre-shave gel from Fred’s or Phoenix Shaving. First time using a cream and I absolutely love it. Very smooth and cooling shave. Reminds me of Noxema. A little went a long way. No irritation whatsoever using a razor blade that had already been used 5 times prior.

If you have ever had an Italian barber, add this pre-shave cream
IAong life’s path it was my good fortune to have two Italian barbers from “the old country”. Whether for a shave/ facial or just a trim, you will recall the mentholated cream they rub on before the shave cream. Not merely pleasing to the olfactory, the shave is closer with far fewer “dings”. A tiny investment for an improvement that gets each day off to a better start.

I can see why some get addicted to this product. This pre-shave packs a hefty hit of menthol that makes the eyes water and clears the sinus. It really helps with raising stubble and adds even more comfort to the shave. I’m smitten with it at first use (it was delivered a couple of hours ago)If you like menthol in your shaving routine, get some of this, it’s heaven.I paired it with the Proraso Eucalyptus and menthol shave cream and the equivalent aftershave, I’m one very happy convert to this new addition to my routine.

Having recently returned to double edge razor shaving I was looking for shaving products to compliment the joy of DE shaving. I’ve tried numerous products over the years including from London based barbers but I have to say since I’ve been using the Proraso range I’m hooked. I’m currently using Proraso pre shave cream, followed by shaving soap and completed by aftershave balm. All the products effuse quality and style (as perhaps Italians do so well). A smooth shave with no nicks or cuts (as DE razors have a tendency to do), the razor glides smoothly over the skin and the balm provides instant cooling and hydration. The pre shave cream has a strong(ish) menthol smell which does make the eyes water a little but combined with the shaving soap brushed on with a quality badger hair brush the skin is left very well prepared for a close shave.The joys of DE razor shaving combined with the Proraso range makes the whole experience enjoyable and for anyone looking for quality shaving products that don’t break the bank and leave you feeling clean and fresh post shave then don’t look any further than the Proraso range- definitely recommended.This is an honest review and I have purchased all the products myself.
